Features

Everything you need to stay protected

Signature + heuristic scanning

Hashes files and matches a live, frequently-updated malware database — plus heuristics for the unknown.

Real-time protection

Watches for threats as they appear, so nothing slips through between scans.

USB & network scans

Scan removable drives on insert, and (on Pro) sweep your whole local network.

Quarantine & recovery

Isolate threats safely and restore false positives with one click.

Auto-updating definitions

Fresh malware definitions delivered automatically — always current, tiny downloads.

Light on your machine

A Rust core keeps scans fast and memory use low. Protection you forget is running.

Why Rust Shield

Built in Rust — protection without the bloat

The big names (Norton, McAfee, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes) are capable — but they're also heavy, and often arrive with bundled VPNs, toolbars, and renewal surprises. Rust Shield does one thing well: fast, lightweight protection.

FAQ

Common questions

What does the Starter plan include?

Starter protects one device with signature + heuristic scanning at $0, with no time limit and no card required. Upgrade for real-time protection and more.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows and macOS. Downloads above always point at the latest signed build.

How do definitions update?

Automatically. The app pulls fresh, compact malware definitions in the background so you're always current.

How do I uninstall Rust Shield?

Windows: open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Rust Shield and choose Uninstall (or use Control Panel → Programs and Features). macOS: quit Rust Shield, then drag it from your Applications folder to the Trash. Uninstalling does not cancel a paid subscription — manage that from your account.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Paid plans are month-to-month and you can cancel whenever you like.
